ABC Ulwazi is a radio training and
production house for development and
education in South Africa. The
organization works mainly with community
radio stations and has produced a number
of HIV/AIDS related programmes.
Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA)
The Actuarial Society of South Africa•s
AIDS Committee has developed models to
assist in estimating the impact of the
AIDS epidemic in South Africa. The
Committee has produced various papers
and monographs on the epidemic and
constructed models to predict the impact
of the epidemic at both the national and
regional level.
AfroAIDSinfo
AfroAIDSinfo is an HIV/AIDS information
portal for southern Africa that promotes
leadership among researchers, health
professionals, policy makers, educators
and the public. Information on this
portal is derived from scientific
research with a southern African focus.
The AIDS Budget Unit (ABU) of IDASA
The AIDS Budget Unit of IDASA provides
research and analysis on the public
finance issues related to government•s
response to HIV/AIDS. It monitors
targeted allocations for HIV/AIDS
interventions in the national and
provincial budgets and also analyses the
indirect impact of the epidemic on the
public sector budget.
AIDS Consortium
The AIDS Consortium is a network of
community-based and other organisations
focusing on HIV/AIDS related issues
based in Gauteng. The organization has
an information and resource centre of
HIV/AIDS materials, and provides support
services to its members.
AIDS Foundation of South Africa (AFSA)
AFSA acts as a link between donors and
Community Based Organizations (CBOs)
working in the HIV/AIDS sector including
funding of CBOs and providing them with
ongoing management, technical support
and capacity building.
AIDS Helpline
The AIDS Helpline is a tollfree service
that provides basic information and
counselling on HIV/AIDS in all 11 South
African languages and directs callers to
local service providers as needed.

The AIDS Law Project specialises in

discrimination. They also conduct

Arepp is a dynamic, innovative and
creative educational theatre
organisation. Using dramatic theatre

in sexuality and the development of
self-image. Each show stimulates debate
around the issues of relationships,

Beat It!
Beat It! is South Africa•s first TV
magazine programme presented entirely by
people living with HIV and AIDS. The
show is about the lives of people living
with HIV and AIDS and presents the
realities of the hardships that they may
face. It offers us a strong message of
hope and a vision for the road ahead
when dealing with HIV and AIDS.

CARE International ('CARE') is one of

Khomanani is a government-led
